Dakar, New Year’s Eve
I have spent an excellent week in Senegal, traveling its northwest coast, and exploring the new airport that will open later this year.
More on that in due time. I thought it worth posting my photographs from New Year’s Eve. A friend, surgeon and professor at the Université Cheikh Anta Diop was kind enough to take me out for the evening, at the fancy Hotel des Almadies. At midnight, at the western tip of Dakar (and of the African landmass), fireworks were launched into the wind. The pictures are what happened next.
